新潟市万代島賑わい創出社会実験
2016年3月開催の「にいがた酒の陣」、4月開催の「G7新潟農業大臣会合」を控えた万代島港湾地区にて「賑わい創出社会実験」の一環として、国内アーティストのMAHARO、Mon、澁谷忠臣、G7参加国のフランスからAlexone Dizacの4名を招き旧水揚場にミューラルアートの制作を行いました。
みなとまち新潟の海上安全や湊の発展を祈願する新潟まつりの水上渡御では、信濃川河口の右岸に到着した神輿は、龍のデザインが入った御座船に移され、信濃川から海上をまわって左岸へ渡ります。これらの新潟まつりの背景を取り入れ、信濃川の前に立地する旧水揚場の壁面に水の神である「龍」をテーマに制作しました。
Creation of Bustling in Bandaijima, Niigata-city Pilot Program
Invite domestic artist like MAHARO, Mon, Tadaomi Shibuya and Alexone Dizac from France and created mural art at Bandaijima harbor district as a part of “Creation of Bustling Pilot Program” to gearing up for “Niigata Sakenojin” in March, “G7 Niigata Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting” in April, both in 2016.
Suijyoutogyou, Niigata’s traditional festival praying for marine safety and development of harbor. Portable shrine that arriving at the right bank of the mouth of Shinanogawa-river will transfer to dragon designed boat reserved for nobles (which is called GOZABUNE) then cruise across to the left bank. With the background of this festival, mural art at the former landing spot in front of Shinanogawa-river is themed “Dragon”, the water God.

Biography
Mon Koutaro Ooyama
1979年生まれ。奈良県在住のアーティスト。壁画・ライブペイント・イラストレーションや、アートプロジェクトの企画・監修・演出など、東京と大阪を拠点に活動中。これまでに、Facebook Japan本社の壁画、NIKE本社の壁画、アートプロジェクト#BCTIONの企画・監修、ライブペイントデュオDOPPELの活動や、また、Yabugarashi 名義でDJやトラック制作などを行ってきた。
MON, born in 1979, living in Nara prefecture. Mural art, live painting, illustration along with planning numerous art projects, being its editorial supervisor and a director. His primary launch pad for his art activities are based in Osaka and Tokyo. His incredible catalog includes mural art at Facebook Japan head office, NIKE headquarter, planned art project #BCTION and being its editorial supervisor, as well as live painting artists duo DOPPEL’s work. His talent is not only known in art world but also in music industry as a DJ and a beat maker under the name of Yabugarashi.
